Tom-Tom Turkey is a delightful three-dimensional figure that is sure to charm everyone at your Thanksgiving table. The body is worked on 18ct tan Mono canvas and is stitched in an interesting array of threads and stitches while the tail is stitched on 18ct dark green Mono canvas using Blackwork and Florentine patterns. The design measures approximately 7 1/2" x 8 1/2" and includes Basketweave, Satin Stitch, Scallop Variation, Diagonal Leaf, Scotch Stitch, Woven Plait as well as the Florentine and Blackwork patterns that appear on the tail. In addition, the student will learn two methods of padding using felt and figure-8 padding. The threads used to stitch this piece includes floss, Overdyed Floss, Cotton Perle, Marlitt, Neon Rays, Ultra Suede, Velour 18, Lacquered Jewels, Fyre Werks, and Balger. Finishing instructions will be discussed in the class. The student will provide 2 sets of 10" x 12" stretcher bars and the usual stitching tools. |
