Along Came a Spider is an adorable Halloween ornament that is the first in a series of ghoulishly fun holiday decorations. It can be finished to hang as an ornament or as a "dietetic" cookie to fool your friends who might try to sneak a treat when you aren't looking. This ornament is stitched on 18ct. white Mono Canvas in an array of fun fibers and embellished with beads. The stumpwork spider is created using precut felt pads as a base. Threads used to create this design include Pebble Perle, Shimmer Ribbon Floss, Burmilana, Fancy Fur, Trebizond Silk, and Kreinik Metallics. Embellishments include large Bugle Beads and seed beads.

The design measures approximately 4½" x 5" in size. The student will be asked to bring 8" x 8" stretcher bars. All other supplies are included in the kit.

If your chapter/group is interested in using this piece as a class project, you have permission to download the Along Came a Spider PDF file for discussion purposes only.
